Physiological Aspects of Snow essays Descriptive and Behavioral Aspects of Snow Leopards The Snow Leopard is an endangered species, and lives among many other species in Asia. These leopards are medium sized cats and usually, males weight more than females. The average male weighs anywhere from 100-120 lbs.; whereas, the average female weighs 75-90 lbs. They do not belong to the same genus as larger cats because they lack the ability to roar. Leopards do not have the fibro-elastic tissues in the throat that allow other cats to make the low growl. It belongs to the Felidae Family, and its scientific name is Uncia uncia. The thick fur coat is grayish-white with traces of yellow in it, and the open-rosette (black circles that resemble roses) spots are dark gray to black colored. This lush fur allows the cat to appear larger than it actually is. The dense light colored coat protects the animal from the extreme conditions of the winter and the mild conditions of the summer. The fur around the paw acts as snowshoes during the winter, and it protects the leopards feet against hot sharp rocks in the summer. Snow leopards molt twice a year, but the summer coat differs little from the winter coat by density and length. The mountainous environment provides an ample amount of camouflage for this particular species. There are other adaptations that the snow leopard has. The most unique characteristic of the Snow Leopard is the long tail, which is used for balance up in the high altitudes. It can be 30-40 in. long, or in some cases, as long as the leopards body. It can also be used to as a scarf. The cat can wrap the tail around itself when it is sitting to add extra warmth. Other adaptations that the Snow Leopard utilizes for the cold are the enlarged nasal cavities, and long fur with wooly undergrowth. Industrial crane operators are required to apply strict safety procedures to carry out their job properly. Several regulations have been existent internationally to prevent accidents and hazards in every industrial workplace. Nevertheless, the current literature reflects a number of accidents related to the use of cranes in many workplaces around the world, both on land and offshore (i.e., gas mining platforms). Therefore, it is important to consider how such accidents have occurred in order to promote safety in the industrial workplace. Industrial crane accidents can happen anytime if workers practice negligence. The complex and heavy structure of the crane implies the high demand for safety during operation in the workplace. Relevantly, only certified workmen can handle industrial cranes, thus workers who would like to be crane operators should undergo t he specific training for operating cranes and other similar machines. A simple negligence on the part of the operator could lead to accidents, and later on, to permanent disability and even deaths. In such cases, the company will be held liable for the loss, not just the operator or the driver concerned could lose his job if the results of the investigations suggest negligence on his part. However, crane accidents have more bearing on the company because the company has the sole liability in such cases. A number of cases of negligence can be found in the literature, pointing either to the company or the crew as the one at fault. For instance, Jerner (2010) reports about a crane accident in which the crane boom separated from the mobile carrier. Based on the investigations, the turntable bearing did not function properly because it was improperly placed and showed signs of being worn out. Notably, the first problem that reveals improper placing of the turntable could be attributed to the staff, whereas the second cause, which is the worn out characteristics of the turntable implies the liability of the company. The use of old and worn out turntable can be attributed to the companyââ¬â¢s cost-cutting measures. In another accident report by Jerner (2010), the same problem of substandard crane parts was detected as the bolts of the boom attached to three crane boom sections broke, thus separating the attached sections from the main boom. The accident occurred during operation as the crane was used to remove a water tank crane boom from a water tower. Although there were no casualties, the accident expectedly caused delay in the companyââ¬â¢s operation. In a report made by the Iowa FACE Program (n.d.) of a 1997 accident that occurred in a wind farm in Iowa, the author noted the shifting of the tower-type crane whose outrigger pad slid to the northwest, leading to the death of the 36-yearââ¬âold crane operator. The crew was about to install generators on a windmill when the accident happened. The owner of the mill, who was situated perpendicular to the windmill and saw the whole accident reported that the crane was tilted a little before the accident happened.Ã

As the odds turn against him he remains on his path and does not give up. His persistence in the end pays off and Mr. Fogg wins his wager, on who The Reform Club will pay. Mr. Phileas Fogg lived at No. 7, Saville Row, Burlington Gardens. As the story progresses on and one tiny wager is made, a trip around the world changes the setting of this novel many a times. Clearly though one the most important settings was in the Indian forests, which were passed through, in order to pursue to Kandallah. The Carnatic and the Mongolia were also key settings to the novel. At the time of his wager he was looking for a servant. He found a servant by the name of Jean Passepartout. These two came to the understanding that Fogg was the master and Passepartout was just a man. His master told Passepartout that they were leaving immediately to travel around the world and told him to pack a carpetbag. Then new means of funds were given by The Daily Telegraph, who decided that the trip had a shot. Then a detective by the name of Fix sent a telegram to the commissioner saying that he found the robber and needed a warrant immediately, if not sooner. As Fix boarded the Mongolia, Passepartout approached him.

Family Expecations Essay
I have found that family expectations are both problematic as well as helpful as I have grown and matured.à My familyââ¬â¢s expectations revolve around our shared histories and aspirations as well as their perceptions of what I might be successful at or enjoy in life.à On the other hand, my life outside of my family has developed to a point where I gain encouragement and confirmation about my abilities and projections from other sources, such as my peers, my work, and through socializing. My ultimate priorities are up to me and only I can determine whether or not I am meeting my expectations no matter what my family believes.à That being said, pressures and expectations from my family has helped me to identify certain paths that I might prove successful for me in the long term.à My family usually has my best intentions in mind when they discuss their expectations for me and that can be a comforting and confidence inspiring motivation.à Additionally, if I have doubts about meeting my expectations, my family is there to advise me on what they feel I should or should not be doing in a particular situation based on their wisdom and previous experiences. In contrast, I often feel that my familyââ¬â¢s expectations for me are based around what they knew of me as a younger adult or child.à Instead of asking me about my current goals and projects, often times they will revert back to telling me what my dreams were as a kid, or even worse, what dreams they had for me when I was a kid.à I understand that they are trying to be optimistic and positive influences on me, but at the same time I have grown up outside of my family and have created new ideas and goals for my future; not the necessarily the future that they always have had envisioned for me. Prioritizing family expectations is a balancing act for me because I want to make my family proud while at the same time living life according to my own principles.à This can be a difficult terrain to traverse, but ultimately it leads to more open and honest discussions about the best way to live life.à In our family, these discussions can at times become heated, but they are always interesting and we come out of them with newfound respect and hopes for the future. I have found that sometimes not living up to family expectations has been the most fruitful decisions I have personally made in my life.à Making my own choices and following my dreams in spite of my familyââ¬â¢s expectations has paid off.à My family is proud of me for having the courage and the ambition to follow through on what I believe in.à If that is in fact their ultimate expectation for me, then I have found the balance necessary to surpass those expectations in the face of all obstacles.

Leadership comes in many different styles. Depending on the type of mission or goal one has each style of leadership can be helpful or harmful. One leadership style that has been found to work well in a career setting is transformational leadership (Doody and Doody, 2012). Transformational leaders are described as having a deep set of internal values that they encourage those under them to take part in, in the end the ultimate goal for transformational leader is to help the greater good (Doody and Doody, 2012). This type of leadership is especially important in a hospital setting, as everyone should have the health of his or her clients as their end goal.
